This article collection, authored and edited by KAUST researchers, resulted from a program running from 2018 to 2023. The articles presented KAUST research on the Red Sea’s unique ecosystem in child-accessible language and were reviewed by students from The KAUST School. They were published in Frontiers for Young Minds, a science journal edited for and reviewed by children aged 8–15. The program involved over 70 researchers, graduate students, faculty, teachers, and school students, aiming to foster ocean stewardship and inspire young readers worldwide to protect and cherish the Red Sea and aquatic ecosystems.
