In a bid to inspire and educate the next generation of leaders, the Office of Sustainability at KAUST recently conducted an engaging workshop for a group of 25 female middle and high school Mawhiba students visiting the campus from Madinah as part of Strategic National Advancement Program (KAUST National Young Talent Development).
The workshop began with an overview of sustainability principles, highlighting its significance in addressing global challenges like climate change. KAUST’s sustainability initiatives were showcased, illustrating the university’s commitment to sustainability across operations, research, and community engagement. In addition to the interactive session led by the Office of Sustainability, the workshop featured Students for Sustainability (S²) who showcased their initiatives aimed at fostering sustainability on campus.
In addition, during the visit, students were provided with the opportunity to explore KAUST’s laboratories and facilities, witnessing firsthand the university’s commitment to sustainability. This immersive experience not only exposed students to cutting-edge advancements in sustainability but also provided them with insights into how interdisciplinary research contributes to addressing complex global challenges.
