The Office of Sustainability invites you to a seminar that highlights how universities can lead by example by incorporating nature and biodiversity into their institution’s sustainability agenda.
Whether you are a student, researcher, faculty, staff, or part of the wider community, this seminar will share how universities are bringing nature and biodiversity into campus life and sustainability initiatives.
Description
In this talk, Emily will introduce the Nature Positive Universities initiative. This is a global community of higher education institutions, including KAUST, committed to playing their part in halting and reversing nature loss.
Universities in the network take responsibility for their own biodiversity impacts, take bold actions, and transparently document progress towards institutional goals for nature.
Emily will share examples from this global network and help us reimagine the role universities can play by greening their campus spaces and addressing their biodiversity footprints, working with their cities, as well as sharing actions taken by student ambassadors to help safeguard a liveable future within planetary boundaries for people and nature.
