Earth Hour

KAUST is The Beacon of Change

Give an Hour for Earth

Dear KAUST Community,

In alignment with our commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation, KAUST is proud to participate in Earth Hour 2024 by turning off the lights of the Beacon, Harbor Walk, and Campus Area.

Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024

Time: 8:30 – 9:30 p.m.

We invite you to join this global effort by turning off the lights of your home. This act is more than symbolic; it’s a moment to reflect on our environmental impact and the steps we can take, both big and small, toward a more sustainable future. This global initiative symbolizes a collective pledge to our planet, emphasizing the importance of combating climate change and protecting nature. Learn more about the Earth Hour initiative here.

In celebration of this special occasion, Students for Sustainability will host a friendly discussion for a night of reflection, learning, and community spirit. Register here.

Why Participate?

Earth Hour goes beyond the act of turning off lights for 60 minutes. It’s a global message of hope and a call to action toward a sustainable future.
